ECA supports Sankt Petersburg International Cultural Forum

Thanks to an initiative by Rosgoscirk, a member of the ECA Advisory Board, “Circus and Street Theatre” is one of the many sections in the 4th Sankt Petersburg International Cultural Forum, which will take place from 14 to 16 December 2015. This section will focus on three main topics: “Industry of the circus – crea-tion, investments, prospects”, “Clowning – brink of the profession and the immensity of art” and “Social Circus”. On 15 December 2015 the forum will feature the opening ceremony and festive presentation of the refurbished Bolshoi Sankt Petersburg State Circus on Fontanka.

11th International Circus Festival in Budapest

The line-up of circus festivals starts early in 2016 with the festival in Budapest, Hungary, to be held al-ready from 7th to 11th January 2016. The new direction of MaCiVa, a member of the ECA Advisory Board, is following the 20 years old tradition to organize this festival every other year. As usual, there will be an ECA workshop with presentations on Monday morning, 11th January 2016. More about this workshop in the December issue of Planet Circus magazine.

„Golden Shows“ in Monte Carlo

Earlier this month the ECA invited its members to the 40th International Circus Festival in Monte Carlo 2016. Due to a technical mistake some invitations mentioned „competition shows“ on Thursday and Fri-day. At this year’s anniversary festival, however, there will be no competition and no jury. Instead, there will be two different „Golden Shows“ with winners of previous festivals and a „Golden Gala“ on Tuesday, 19th January 2016, with several surprises. In any case, all members of the ECA are invited to visit the fes-tival and attend the General Members Meeting and ECA Symposium on Friday, 15th January 2016 in Mon-te Carlo. Some speakers are yet to be confirmed. A list of the speakers for the symposium will be pub-lished in the December issue of Planet Circus magazine.
